Marketing Strategies
Stamford Public Education Foundation
As the Marketing and Program Associate at The Stamford Education Foundation, I managed all social media campaigns to help the recruit more potential donors/volunteers. In the past, the organization had used their social media platforms to share photos of programs and events that took place at the organization. However, they hadn’t seen much success when it came to using social media as a way to recruit donors, volunteers, and mentors to help expand the organization’s programs. One fo the most impactful social media campaigns was the hashtag #SPEFMentor and #SPEF2017 to allow for current mentors/volunteers and students to share there stories and help inspire more to get involved. This social media campaign helped to increase traffic and engagement on their website, as well as boost recruitment efforts of volunteers/mentors by about 50%.
Whilst at the organization, I also updated the organization’s website regarding future events and donation opportunities, created all flyers, invitations, donor cards, banners, etc to help publicize the organization’s events and programs, and sent out monthly emails informing donors about future events and fundraising/volunteering opportunities. and update the website.
Women’s World Banking
Whilst interning at Women’s World Banking, I discussed with the Marketing and Communications Team about expanding my responsibilities to include creating social media content and digital marketing campaigns. To help leverage the organization’s engagement on Twitter and LinkedIn, I suggested that the organization post a quote from a news article, rather than attaching the article itself. This way followers could engage with the quote rather than having to read the whole article. As a result, the organization saw a boost in engagement by 60% and was able to better gauge the type of content that their followers seemed to be most interested in discussing. This is still something that the organization has continued to do across its social media platforms.
I also worked with the team on creating campaigns that would allow the organization to use social media to recruit volunteers and staff members through my web series. This boosted the organization’s recruitment efforts and made the series the most viewed videos on the organization’s YouTube Channel. The videos have sense been taken down, as many of the staff members no longer work at the organization. One of the videos can be found on my video reel.
